DU CSAS 2026 Registration Open: How to Use Your CUET UG Score for Delhi University Admission

DU CSAS 2026 Registration Is Open — Act Before July 11

If you appeared for CUET UG 2026 and want a seat at Delhi University, the clock is ticking. The National Testing Agency declared CUET UG 2026 results on 23 June 2026, and Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal has been accepting registrations since 27 June 2026. The registration window closes on 11 July 2026 at 11:59 PM — missing this deadline means missing DU entirely, regardless of your score. This guide walks you through every step: downloading your scorecard, registering on the CSAS portal, filling course preferences, and understanding the seat allocation timeline.

What Is DU CSAS and Why Does It Matter?

The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) is Delhi University’s centralised admission platform. All undergraduate admissions to DU — across all its colleges and programmes — happen exclusively through CSAS. Unlike older merit-list systems based on Class 12 board marks, DU admission from 2022 onwards is 100% based on CUET UG scores. Your Class 12 percentage does not determine your rank or seat allocation; your CUET 2026 normalised score does.

This makes your CUET scorecard the single most important document in the admission process. Keep it downloaded, printed, and saved — you will need it at every stage.

Step 1 — Download Your CUET UG 2026 Scorecard

Before registering on CSAS, ensure you have your scorecard ready:

  1. Visit the official portal: cuet.nta.nic.in
  2. Click “Candidate Login” and enter your Application Number and Password (or Date of Birth).
  3. Download the CUET UG 2026 Score Card PDF and save it securely.

The scorecard contains your raw score, normalised score, and percentile for each subject you appeared in. DU will use the normalised score when preparing merit lists for its programmes.

If you are targeting programmes in English, Political Science, History, or Economics, also check the subject-wise breakdowns carefully — different DU colleges set different cut-offs for different subjects.

Step 2 — Register on the DU CSAS 2026 Portal

With your scorecard in hand, head to admission.uod.ac.in — the official DU UG admission portal for 2026.

Registration steps:

  1. Create a new account using your registered email and mobile number.
  2. Fill in personal details (name, date of birth, category, PwBD status) exactly as they appear in your CUET application.
  3. Enter your CUET UG 2026 Application Number so the portal can fetch your scores directly from NTA’s database.
  4. Upload required documents: Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, category certificate (if applicable), and a recent passport-size photograph.
  5. Pay the non-refundable registration fee online.

Deadline: 11 July 2026, 11:59 PM. No extensions have been announced as of 4 July 2026. Register today — do not wait for the last day.

Step 3 — Fill Programme and College Preferences

This is the most strategic part of the CSAS process. After registration, you must fill in your Programme + College combinations in order of preference. A few key rules:

  • You can add as many Programme-College combinations as you wish. More preferences = more chances of allocation.
  • Order your preferences carefully — the system allocates seats from your topmost preference downward.
  • Only list programmes for which you have appeared in the relevant CUET subject. For example, to apply for B.A. (Honours) Political Science, you must have appeared in Domain Subject: Political Science in CUET 2026.
  • The General Test (GAT) score is required for all programmes that use it as one of the subjects. Check each programme’s specific CUET subject requirements on the DU website.

If you are preparing for CUET 2027 or want to build a stronger subject foundation, our Drishti General Test course covers the full GAT syllabus with concept videos, practice sets, and mock tests.

How Is Your CUET Score Used in DU Admissions?

Many students are confused about exactly how the NTA scorecard translates into a DU seat. Here is a clear breakdown:

  • NTA normalises scores across different exam sessions (since CUET runs across multiple days and shifts). Your normalised score — not your raw marks — determines your rank within each subject.
  • DU colleges prepare programme-specific merit lists based on the combination of CUET subjects specified for that programme (e.g., English + General Test, or History + Political Science + English).
  • There is no centralised all-India CUET counselling run by NTA. Each university — DU, BHU, Jamia, JNU, and others — runs its own admission process using CUET scores.
  • If you are applying to multiple universities, register separately on each university’s portal. Your CUET Application Number acts as the link between your NTA scorecard and every university’s system.

Beyond DU — Other Universities Using CUET 2026 Scores

Delhi University is the most competitive destination, but your CUET 2026 score is accepted by over 250 central, state, and deemed universities. Some other top options include:

  • Banaras Hindu University (BHU) — Varanasi; heavy humanities and science programmes
  • Jamia Millia Islamia — Delhi; popular for Journalism, Social Work, and Education
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) — Delhi; select UG programmes via CUET
  • Central University of Rajasthan, Hyderabad, South Bihar — regional options with good programmes

Each university releases its own admission schedule independently. Check official university websites and keep your CUET scorecard accessible throughout July and August 2026.

For students who want expert guidance through the preparation phase, our Samanvay English + General Test course pairs language skills with GAT strategy — the two subjects that appear in virtually every CUET programme combination.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in DU CSAS 2026

  • Registering late: The July 11 deadline is hard. Server traffic spikes on the last day — complete registration by July 8 or 9.
  • Listing too few preferences: Students with only 2–3 preferences risk getting no allocation if cut-offs exceed their score. List 15–20 combinations if possible.
  • Mismatch between CUET subjects and programme requirements: Always cross-check DU’s official programme-subject matrix before adding a preference.
  • Ignoring the simulated rank: DU releases simulated ranks on July 12 — use this to revise your preferences before the window closes on July 13.
  • Missing fee payment after allocation: Seat acceptance without fee payment by the deadline = seat cancelled, no second chance in that round.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does DU CSAS 2026 registration close?

The Phase 2 registration window closes on 11 July 2026 at 11:59 PM. As per official DU communications, no extension has been announced. Candidates who miss this deadline will not be considered for seat allocation in 2026.

Can I use my CUET UG 2026 score for universities other than DU?

Yes. Your CUET UG 2026 scorecard is valid for over 250 participating universities across India. Each university runs its own separate admission portal and schedule. NTA only declares results — admission happens through individual university portals using your CUET Application Number and score.

Is Class 12 percentage considered in DU admission 2026?

No. Delhi University has moved entirely to CUET-based admission since 2022. Your Class 12 board percentage is not used for seat allocation or merit list preparation. The only academic score that matters for DU 2026 admission is your CUET UG 2026 normalised score in the relevant subjects.

What happens after Round 1 seat allocation on July 16?

After Round 1, candidates who receive an allocation must accept the seat and pay the fee by 21 July 2026. Colleges then verify documents (16–20 July). If you do not get a seat in Round 1, or if you upgrade your preference, you remain in the pool for Round 2, whose allocation list is expected on 25 July 2026.
