Misuse and Interference in Judiciary The controversy over a tainted judge�s appointment reached former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh�s doors. According to Justice Katju who is also the Chairman of the Press Council Of India, a district judge was elevated to the Madras High Court as additional Judge despite several �adverse entries �against him because he enjoyed the backing of a regional party then supporting the UPA. BJP has sought an answer from the former PM and Congress of how the different constitutional bodies including judiciary were misused for political reasons. Victory of a �common man � image Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo,who captured the hearts of millions of Indonesians with his common man image ,won the country�s Presidential election with 53% of the votes. Widodo, a former furniture exporter,known to most as � Jokowi � is the first candidate in a direct Presidential election with no ties to the former dictator Suharto,who ruled for 30 years before being overthrown in 1998.
