National Girl Child day National Girl Child day[/caption] National girl child day is celebrated every year on 24th of January as a national observance day for the girl child. This celebration was started to offer more support and new opportunities to the girls in the country. It is celebrated to increase awareness among people about all the inequalities faced by the girl child in the society Ministry of Women and Child Development has been taking a multi pronged approach to address and reverse the trend of declining child sex ratio in the country. This day is being observed every year on 24 January since 2008.
