Kiran Kumar director of the Space Applications Centre of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been appointed as the new chief of ISRO as well as secretary of the department of space. Kumar joined ISRO�s Space Applications Centre in 1975. He has played a key role in the design and development of electro-optical imaging sensors for airborne, low earth orbit and geostationary orbit satellites including for Chandrayaan-I mission, India�s first lunar mission.
