The union cabinet on Thursday gave its approval for the continuation of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) programme for 15 operational flights (PSLV-C36 to PSLV-C50). The cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gave approval to the programme which will cost Rs. 3,090 crores and will enable launch of satellites required for earth observation, navigation and space sciences along with the possibility of clinching commercial launch service contracts.
