AILET 2015 Analysis & Expected Cut-Offs

CLAT_Image_AILET AILET 2015 Exam Analysis Conducted on May 3, 2015 this year Total Questions: 150 Total Marks: 150 Total Duration: 90 minutes *There was no negative marking Section 1: Quantitative Aptitude No. of Questions: 10 This section was a mixed bag which comprised all the topics one can think of in quantitative aptitude. Questions ranged from Percentage, Numbers, Ratio and their applications and Time speed and distance etc. The section can be classified as moderate to difficult. A student, thoroughly prepared, would have attempted 7+ questions taking 15 minutes. 5+ score in this section would be considered a decent enough score. Section 2: Verbal Ability No. of Questions: 35 For a student who has taken all the Mock tests of CLAT Gurukul, this section would have been a cake walk. This entire section was vocabulary driven and fairly easy. A student with a decent command over Vocabulary would have easily attempted 30+ questions in this section. Conventional topics like Synonym, Antonym, Analogies and Para-jumbles found their place in a decent number. A score of 25+ would take care of the cut-offs. Section 3: Reasoning No. of Questions: 35 This section was a nightmare for almost all the students. Standard topics like Blood Relations, Calendar and Dates were missing. It was a time consuming section with topics like Coding, Series, Analogy and Direction Sense evenly distributed. Questions on Course of action and Syllogisms and Odd One Out also found their place in this section. For a student well prepared in syllogism, questions were easy to solve and proved to be a breather for them. New topics like Binary Statements made this section quite difficult for the students. This section was quite difficult and a score of 17+ would be considered a very good score in this section. Section 4: General Knowledge No. of Questions: 35 Out of 35 questions that were asked 25 were from current affairs, in which most of the questions were from the month of March and April, 2015. A student who has taken all the mocks at CLAT Gurukul would have found this G.K just like another Mock test. Each and every Question was a repeat along with the options. Talking about the areas questions covered, it was from Awards and Honours, Books and Authors and on Eminent Personalities. Questions on Science and Economy dominated the Static G.K section. Questions were asked from the International Organisations as well. This section too was fairly easy and one can expect 20+ score to be a good score in this section. Section 5: Legal Aptitude No. of Questions: 35 Legal section was another section with no surprises. Legal Reasoning dominated this section were 10 questions were based on Legal Knowledge and rest on Legal reasoning. Reasoning question touched the areas like Culpable Homicide, Criminal Misappropriation, Kidnapping, Theft and Murder. Questions were total repeat from Our CLAT Gurukul Mocks and any student who has taken all the Mock Tests would have found this section very easy. 25+ score would be considered a decent score for this section.
